FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Massage therapy
How much space do I need in my location to set up?
Adequate space would be 10 foot x 12 foot, for the table and to move around it.

Do I need to undress to receive a massage?

Your comfort and safety is of most importance. Once we discuss the plan for your massage, you will be guided to undress to your comfort level,  get on the massage table and cover yourself with the linens provided, once the therapist leaves the room.

I heard that massage is a about pampering, as in a spa, is this true?
While this may be true for some people, it is most frequently used as an aid for reducing stress and pain relief. Many healthcare professionals recommend massage therapy due to the many benefits it provides.

Is Deep Tissue massage painful?
While some people may prefer a firmer pressure, a massage should never be painful. Occasionally, you may have a sensitive spot in a muscle that feels like a knot. While it’s being worked out, you may experience some discomfort until it’s released. But if it becomes painful, it’s okay to speak up so the pressure can be adjusted.

Table thai massage
I'm not very flexible, will I be able to move through the postures comfortably?
Yes. Each person's body is different, and the movements will be supported to suit your body accordingly. Utilizing deep breathing to encourage relaxation will naturally aid in improving your flexibility.

I don't practice yoga or any form of meditation. Will there be spiritual practices in this session?
The session is aligned by what resonates with you, no other spiritual practices or spiritual props will be included in your session.

I've had surgeries or injuries and I am concerned this might aggravate them. Will I be able to receive this session?
Although this session involves quite a bit of stretching, this is done within the scope of your comfort and your body's range of motion. Movement can be a powerful tool to aid in your body's recovery. All surgeries and/or injuries should be listed in the Thai massage intake form, to plan a session that is safe and effective for you. If you have suffered a recent injury or surgery (within the last 6 months) it would be beneficial for you to consult with your physician first.
Energy/Yoga methods
I'm familiar with Reiki, do you do this in your energy sessions?
Not specifically. While Reiki involves the "laying of hands" to help support your energy flow, the Energetic Cleansing and Boosting session focuses on teaching you exercises and simple techniques so that you can increase your awareness of your energy and the subtle energies around us.

I've never done yoga or am out of practice, what type of yoga do you teach?
It would be considered Hatha Yoga, and the sequences will be created based on where your body is at at that moment. I prefer not to use any music in the session, although if you prefer, you can provide music of your preference.

Do I need to have a yoga mat?
It would be beneficial to have your own yoga mat, that fits your body, and has only your energy.
